Which New Technology Products Will Rule in 2013?
The world of technology is forever turning, and with that in mind 2013 is once again set to push the envelope of belief and possibility further than ever before. There are sure to be new technologies that will change how we think about medicine, transport, entertainment and much more. We looked at the biggest and best technology products either confirmed or rumored to be hitting the scene in 2013, and why they will make such an impact.
Mobile phones seem to change and be innovated so quickly that it is almost sickening. It is a fickle world where you can have the best product on the market in January, only to have something that appears outdated and obsolete come May.
Such is the way of the world, unfortunately. Rumors this week suggest that the iPhone 6 will be available in a number of colors, as well as there being options for various screen sizes.
More intriguingly, Apple’s heated rivals Samsung have filed two patents for exciting innovations. One is for ‘smart skin phones,’ that allow a user to take a picture and have it populate the entire surface of their device. The second is for bendy phones, which from the sounds of it will be damn near indestructible due to the technology used. Maybe 2013 is the year that awkward trips to the mobile phone store to sheepishly ask for a new device become a thing of the past.
Although these aren't especially new, 2013 could well be the year that they come to the fore and revolutionize how we deal with our personal well-being. We've all seen pedometers, heart rate monitors, and the thousands of mobile applications that exist professing to help us with our lifestyle.
The Basis Band brings all of these together, and so much more, telling us even how well we are sleeping! ‘PC Magazine’ and ‘Tech Crunch’ are already predicting big things for the Basis Band, and it could well be set to become an essential accessory for techie-fitness fanatics throughout the year.
Although the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U are both relatively new, there hasn't really been an industry ‘game changer’ for a number of years. That could be set to change in 2013, with a new Xbox console heavily rumored to be on the way from Microsoft in the latter half of the year.
Patents already filed by Microsoft include one concerning the projection of 3D images onto walls, while it is also expected that the new console, allegedly to be called Infinity, will be the first console to host games exclusively from cloud servers without the need to buy a physical game or download hefty files to your system.
What makes these innovations all the more exciting is that they are just the tip of the iceberg, there will inevitably be other developments that haven’t yet been hinted at or reported which will also take the world by storm in 2013.
